Zentangle is a series of patterns that hold within them all of the types of lines that students need to progressively learn and use the Elements of Art between grades 1 and 4. This Visual Arts lesson has cross-curricular applications in science, language, and Social Studies. It can be used as a Creative Picasso Activity Center, or as a whole class lesson.
Included are Zentangle Patterns are labeled under four steps of difficulty. There is another page with a chart showing the types of lines and shapes students should be applying to their work according to their grade. There are exit tickets, peer-assessments and self-assessments for each grade so the students can consolidate their learning at the end of each period so you can easily track their progress.
